Leo Wei is moving to Toronto to join Citizen Relations as AI Technical Lead. Citizen Relations is a public relations agency headquartered in Toronto with offices around the world, and Leo will lead the design and delivery of its artificial intelligence work.

Leo joined DENOS Lab as a Master of Science student in 2023 and defended his thesis in 2025. Over those two years he built a strong record. He was part of the DENOS team that received a Best Paper Award at the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Autonomous and Trusted Computing in Calgary. Earlier he won third place in data visualization at the CANIS Hackathon hosted by Schulich Ignite, alongside Yunkai Bao and Jiajun Wu. His research on federated learning for supply chain demand forecasting brought privacy preserving machine learning to real forecasting problems, and it carries directly into the applied artificial intelligence work he now leads.

His path through distributed learning, agentic simulation and reasoning prepared him to turn research into products at scale, and the whole lab is proud to see that work continue in industry. Congratulations, Leo!
